In the beginning of your weight loss plan you may feel as if fasting is a good idea. Actually, fasting will help you lose weight- at first. However, what most people fail to realize is that reducing your calorie intake will also reduce your metabolism. Ultimately, if you are metabolism is reduced your body will actually retain calories. In fact, as you begin to eat normally once more, your body will retain most of those calories and store them as excess fat. What is the answer? The answer is simple. The only way to effectively lose weight is to approach your eating with new habits that will encourage weight loss.
1. Eat your first meal earlier
If you are fortunate enough to receive a good night’s rest of at least 7 to 8 hours, this will help keep your energy high kicking you refreshed. Remember, it has been more than eight hours since your body as received any food to keep your energies. If you take more time needed by postponing breakfast, you will come across certain risks. Waiting to eat for several hours after you have awakened will encourage muscle tissue loss and a reduced metabolism. These things will actually cause you to gain weight. Therefore, it is best to eat a well-balanced meal at least an hour after waking up.
2. Eat meals that are well balanced and provide the proper amount of nutrients
Breakfast foods such as cereal, pancakes, cheese muffins, and similar foods are not the answer. Also these choices may sound tasty; they can only lead to other problems. Foods such as this will encourage weight gain. Additionally, training your body to eat such foods will also encourage your body to crave bad carbs like sugar causing you to feel hungry sooner in the day and throughout the entire day. Your body will benefit best from nutritious breakfast combo’s high in protein and healthy fats. Making better breakfast decisions will offer a feeling of satisfaction and provide energy that will last throughout the day. A good example of a nutritious breakfast combination would be cottage cheese and almonds.
3. It is better to not eat regular meals
That might sound like strange advice. But the truth is that normal eating habits consists of three meals a day; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of the first things you will have to understand is that in order to achieve weight loss you must change your way of thinking when it comes to preparing your meals. Adopting healthier habits will go a long way to melting fat and keeping it off for good. The best option is to eat small meals throughout the day. This is an affective form of eating because smaller meals will allow you to not feel quite as hungry and still allow your system to digest your food consumption appropriately. Where as if you continue to eat the way you have been, you will not allow proper digestion and your metabolism will remain the same. In fact, one of the benefits to eating multiple meals throughout the day are you’ll actually feel as if you were eating more often.
4. Allow your system plenty of time to digest it for bedtime
It makes sense that if your body is sleeping so is your digestive system. Your digestive system doesn’t work when it is at rest. Therefore, whatever you eat just before bedtime will remain in your system and be stored as extra calories or excess fat. You have to give your system the time it needs digest whatever food you consume.
5. Consume plenty of water
It is a known fact that water consumption will curb your appetite by keeping you feeling less hungry. Furthermore, it is important to consume plenty of liquids to flush the toxins out of your system. Drinking plenty of water or will also contribute to your energy level.
6. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine
Exercise combined with proper nutrients is the only surefire way to lose weight. If you burn more calories than you consume, ultimately the weight will fall off. This does not need to get in the way of your daily routine. A simple walking regime of 30 minutes per day can be extremely beneficial. This may be as simple as choosing the stairs instead of the elevator.
